What the client needed, and what we built.
Sand Hill Road spent eight years turning a heritage-listed 1925 building on the corner of Flinders and King into a seven-level venue. They sold every other pub they owned, including The Espy and Garden State, to focus on it. A build that size generates a story while it's happening, and the moment the doors open that story is gone. They needed the journey captured, not just a launch campaign.
We came on before the venue was open to the public and documented the build as it happened: construction, fit-out, each space as it came online. As opening approached we introduced the venue level by level. For Past/Port, the three-level South-East Asian restaurant inside, we led with executive chef Sarah Chan, using her story and her food philosophy as the entry point rather than a menu reveal. Since opening we have continued to shoot their campaign work, including the MCG and Marvel promotional piece.
